It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of
Georgette (Herault) Dempsey.
Georgette was born in Fort Coulonge, QC on February 18, 1945.
She was the daughter of the late Ida May Lussier and the late Leo Herault.
Georgette was raised in Fort Coulonge and after meeting and marrying the love of her life Willis R. Dempsey (Deceased March 1, 2019) on May 21st 1966, they moved to Sudbury Ontario. While they lived in Sudbury, they were blessed with their only child, Lise Dempsey whom they adored. She was their pride and joy and Lise made them very very proud.
After Sudbury, they moved to Nackawic, New Brunswick in 1970 and lived there until 2002, when they moved to St. Pascal-Baylon, Ontario, where they lived in an apartment in Lise’s basement until 2017. They then moved to Rockland, Ontario, until their passings.
Georgette is survived by her devoted daughter Lise (Mike Frost), her sisters, Claudette (the late Dave), Lucie (Kenneth), and Jackie (the late Bob), 2 brothers, Lucien, and Denis (Sandra). Her sisters-in-law, Margaret (the late Bernard Cahill), Simone (the late Melvin Dempsey), her special nieces, Shelly Saunders and family, Maureen Cahill and family, her nephew, Paul Cahill and family, her cousins Jean and Bernie Morin, Roy and Fran Ward and too many other cousins, nieces and nephews to list by name.
She is also survived by very her close friends, Jocelyn and Rick Dionne, Deborah and Marty Jones, Doreen Romain, Barb and Roger Martel, Kathy Morgan Easter (Michael) and Mark Wilson who was like a son to her as well as many other friends.
Also predeceased by sister Denise. A very special aunt Collette, and Beth Haines Perry who was like a daughter to her.
Georgette lived her life as a very strong, independent woman who took care of others, loved with all her heart and had a sharp sense of humor. She was a trusted and loyal friend and “mom” to many.
Although she will be missed, she has left us all with so many memories of her where she was laughing and joking and that she shall never be far away and forever thought of with love.
The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the 3rd and 6th floor teams as well as the palliative care team at the Ottawa Montfort Hospital for their great kindness, compassion and warm care.
Funeral service will be held at the funeral home chapel, on Friday, May 24, 2019, at 11 am. You may express your condolences to the family on Thursday May 23, from 6 to 9 pm and on Friday May 24th from 9 am at:
